With a regional focus, though acting on an international scope, PRODINTEC wishes to be a reference in technology for everything related to product development, R&D manufacturing and management in the field of industry.

PRODINTEC’s success will be seen in so far as more and more Asturian firms, and especially SME’s, incorporate technological solutions for the development of their products and renew the traditional means of manufacturing/management, on occasions limited in terms of productivity.

The new opportunities available to technology demanders are:

• to have at their disposal a collaborator in order to outsource their R&D, because:
• • they do not carry out R&D
  • although they do so, the necessary technology level is not within their reach, and a collaborator of this kind may reduce the risk, cost, etc. of a project
• the possibility of consulting the state of the art of a specific technology, R&D management ...
• to have at their disposal a training centre for product and process technicians
• a marketing resource, so as to be able to show their customers the technological level at which they are working
• facilities in terms of equipment, communications, test benches ...
• to facilitate access to sources of funding, even at an international level

Another indicator of the success of the activities carried out will be the enriching of the offer in technological solutions within the region, either because the firms that currently offer these services grow, new spin-offs appear or more contracts are signed with the University, technology centres, etc.

For technology suppliers, PRODINTEC constitutes an opportunity to:

• create new market niches in sectors/firms where these activities are currently a luxury, or simply unknown, where there is high risk, etc.
• have at their disposal high technology tools that suppose a very high investment and that may now be shared: rapid prototyping, virtual prototyping, 3D scanning, 3D design or simulation software, HS machining, reverse engineering, robots,...
• carry out cooperation projects that will facilitate easier access to public lines of funding at a regional, national and international level
• have at their disposal a training and recruitment centre (nursery) for technical staff
